About Grant MacCusker, ambitious entrepreneur, investor and founder with a proven track record of building, scaling, and exiting successful businesses across property, construction, technology, and investment. Known for his strong character and relentless never-give-up attitude, Grant has consistently identified market opportunities and turned them into high-performing ventures.

Grant’s entrepreneurial journey began in 2008 when he used his redundancy package to launch GM Cleaning Services, his first business venture. In 2009, he founded Alexander Crombie Property Management, a letting agency built on reliability, approachability, and extended customer service. Grant successfully scaled the business from a start-up into a respected operation, achieving a successful exit in 2015.

In 2014, Grant expanded into the construction sector by founding Crombie Contracts, an all-trades company delivering residential and commercial renovations across Scotland. Under Grant’s leadership, Crombie Contracts experienced sustained growth, built a strong industry reputation, and secured a diverse client base. In February 2020, Grant successfully sold Crombie Contracts, marking another strategic business exit.

In 2018, Grant soft launched Letting Cloud, the UK’s first letting-only property portal. After identifying a clear gap in the student rental advertising market, he went on to co-found Student Rents in 2021 — a platform dedicated to helping students Find The Perfect Student Home.

Following a setback in the technology sector, Grant moved into consultancy roles, supporting construction businesses with growth strategy, operations, and commercial performance. Building on this experience, he established Burgh Developments and Aspire Fitout, residential and commercial construction companies focused on high-quality delivery and long-term value. Grant believes the Scottish construction market remains vibrant, supported by sustained residential demand, regeneration projects, and long-term housing investment, and he remains optimistic about the future of the sector.

Most notably, he was named a Tech Nation Rising Star 4.0, winning at a regional level and progressing to UK Finalist status.
